Welcome to CWMFELEN Farms

Owner Hilary Tolhurst grew up in Wales and went to school in Lampeter, Cardiganshire. Where Hilary enjoyed her passion - riding her Welsh ponies and cross breds over the hills around beautiful Ffarmers Village. Moving to Canada in 1981 with her family, Hilary decided to bring the Welsh blood lines to Grey County forming the beginning of Cwmfelen Farm. Cwmfelen was established in 1981 with the Welsh import of Hafael Brenin and Penlon Iris.
The registration prefix and farm name has raised much curiosity as to it’s origin, here is a brief translation: Cwmfelen is Welsh, meaning a beautiful, yellow, water-flower meadow, in a valley.
